Etika a komunikace v medicíně [Ethics and Communication in Medicine].
(review)

Hana Junová

The book is divided into three parts and forty-nine chapters. The editors wisely limited the size of chapters and thus motivated authors towards brief and clear expressions. Among the authors there are many renowned specialists (mainly medical doctors, but also psychologists, lawyers and others) which make every chapter readable even for those not interested in a particular topic. References are placed at the end of each chapter. There is also an appendix containing relevant documents: Nuremberg Code, European Charter of Medical Ethics and Ethical Code of the Czech Medical Chamber. I find the graphic layout of the book inspiring – on the front page there is the original text of the Hippocratic Oath and on the back page its Czech translation. The list of authors and their affiliations is also quite helpful.
