Notes for authors

A. Articles are received on the understanding that they are original contributions and have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere (even with alterations). In case that the article follows previous publication, the older article must be properly cited and the author has to make clear what is new and how does it extend the previous one.

B. If an author breaks ethical principles for publication and does not respect the rule of proir publication, the article will be withdrawn with a comment on this matter.

C. The contribution that has already been published in E-psychologie cannot be offered to other journal or published in any other way without prior approval by the publisher of E-psychologie.

Journals sections from which you can choose are the following:

Research Studies (from Master theses or dissertations, from research projects)
Review Studies (state-of-the-art reports from particular areas in psychology)
Practice Reflections (contributions reflecting practice)
Discussions (among authors on a specific current topic)
Reports (from professional events, anniversaries etc.)
Book Reviews

Contributions to all sections should include:

  • at the beginning of your contribution: article title
  • author's name
  • at the end of your contribution: brief information about the author (academic titles, affiliation, professional profile)
  • contact details (e-mail and postal address)

Structure of a research study:

  • abstract in Czech and in English, each should contain approx. 1 500 characters (spaces are not included in the number of characters; translation into the Czech language can be provided by the editors)
  • article title in English
  • three to five kewyords in Czech and in English (translation of keywords into the Czech language can be provided by the editors)
  • text of the article (brief introduction, theoretical background, research objective, research questions or hypotheses, research sample and methods used, results, discussion, conclusions which may be accompanied by recommendations for practice)
  • literature

Structure of a review study:

  • abstract in Czech and in English, each abstract should contain approx. 1 500 characters (spaces are not included in the number of characters; translation into the Czech language can be provided by the editors)
  • article title in English
  • three to five kewyords in Czech and in English (translation of keywords into the Czech language can be provided by the editors)
  • text of the article divided into chapters (please do not use numbering)
  • conclusion
  • literature

Expected length:

Research and review studies: Approx. 9–15 pages
Contributions reflecting practice: Approx. 3–10 pages
Reports and book reviews: 1–2 pages

Formatting:

  • Times New Roman, size 12 pt
  • formats in which contributions can be submitted: .doc, .odt, .rtf
  • 1.5 line spacing
  • heading should be in bold
  • author’s name in italics
  • text should be justified
  • indents should be used for the first lines of paragraphs
  • all abbreviations should be explained when used for the first time, in the subsequent text abbreviation can be used without further explanation
  • tables and figures should be numbered and accompanied by captions

Literature:

  1. CITATIONS
  • use citations in the text in the format analogous to this example: (Vágnerová, 2000)
  • when quotations are included, use quotation marks and include a particular page in the citation: (Vágnerová, 2000, s. 45)
  • in cases when author’s name is already in the text and in the parantheses you only include the year, include also the initial of the first name, e.g., M. Vágnerová (2000)
  • if the cited item has been written by two or three authors, include all authors in the citation and separate them by commas: (Miles, Huberman, 1994)
  • if the cited item has more than three authors, include only the first author and the expression “et al.”: (Sauber et al., 1993)
  • when more than one item is cited, use a semicolon: (Macek, 2003; Říčan, 2004)

In cases of secondary citations we do not have the original resource available, only the secondary resource in which the original work is cited. In the text we include surnames of authors, year of publication of the original resource followed by a semicolon and a citation of the secondary resources preceded by the expression “in”: “Violato and Holden (1988; in Baliga, 1997) mention that…”. Both the original and secondary resource should be included in the references.

  1. REFERENCES
  • list of references at the end of the article should have the following heading: Literature
  • references should be ordered alphabetically (please do not number them)
  • all resources cited in the text should be included (but no other resources)
  • do not justify the Literature section of the article
